Privci

About Privci

Privci is redefining how organisations defend themselves by bringing behavioural science, psychology, and AI into the heart of cybersecurity. Built by security researchers, we go beyond traditional tools to understand why people make risky decisions — and how those behaviours can be changed at scale.

Our Story

Our Mission

To transform organisations' human firewall by making secure behaviour the default through scientifically-grounded, AI-driven behavioural interventions. We believe that sustainable cybersecurity comes from understanding and influencing human behaviour, not just deploying more technology.

Our Vision

A world where human behaviour is no longer the weakest link in cybersecurity. We envision organisations where employees are empowered, aware, and resilient to threats, creating security cultures that are proactive, adaptive, and scientifically informed.

Our Story

The journey from a quiet pursuit to a global mission

2018
The Moment It Became Real
A close friend, responsible for IT at a mid‑sized organisation, called in a panic. An employee had fallen for a social engineering attack — someone impersonating the CEO. The breach cost the company six figures and weeks of recovery. “I knew the risk was there,” he admitted, “but I couldn’t see it until it was too late.” That conversation exposed a troubling truth: organisations were investing in tools and training, yet remained blind to the human behaviours attackers exploit. The risk wasn’t invisible — it was simply unmeasured.
2019
Where the Question Took Hold
Privci’s story starts with a simple but unsettling question: why do people still make risky decisions even when they know better? For Divine, this question became a long‑running pursuit. While working full‑time by day, he spent his nights immersed in research, teaching himself machine learning and coding while pursuing a PhD focused on the human psyche of security. It was a solitary journey — long hours, little certainty — guided by a growing conviction that the real challenge in cybersecurity wasn’t technology, but understanding people.
2020
A Vision Takes Shape
The idea behind Privci crystallised: a platform that doesn’t just train people, but understands them. With unwavering support from his wife, Divine stepped away from stability to pursue a mission that felt bigger than comfort — to solve cybersecurity’s most human problem.
2021
Science Lights the Path
Diving into one of the world’s most complex industries — maritime — Divine began pioneering research on behaviour‑driven security. If behaviour change could work here, it could work anywhere. The lessons learned from this work went on to inform Privci’s philosophy and design principles.
2022
Recognition and Validation
The first research paper was published, validating the behavioural science approach. Dr. Konstantinos Mersinas, who supported the work, later joined Privci as Research Lead — strengthening the scientific rigour behind the mission.
2023
A Prototype Born from Persistence
After years of rejection, silence, and sleepless nights, the first primitive version of Privci emerged. It wasn’t polished, but it was real — a testament to resilience, faith, and the belief that human‑centred security could change everything.
2024
Deepening the Science
Further research revealed a critical truth: one‑size‑fits‑all training doesn’t work. People learn differently. People behave differently. Privci doubled down on personalised, adaptive, behaviour‑driven interventions.
2025
Breakthrough and Momentum
Privci’s Human Vulnerability Scanner launched — the world’s first tool capable of mapping an organisation’s human risk landscape in just 30 days. What began as a quiet question had become a living system — one that doesn’t blame people for being human, but understands them well enough to reduce risk before it becomes reality.

Leadership Team

The interdisciplinary experts shaping the future of human‑centred cybersecurity

Divine Chana

Divine Chana C.

CEO

Divine is a cybersecurity specialist, machine‑learning engineer, and behavioural‑science researcher with over a decade of experience spanning retail, e‑commerce, finance, and insurance.

Holding an MSc in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, he is CISSP, CEH, ISO, and SSCP certified. As a PhD researcher, he focuses on end‑user behaviour change and has published work on human risk, behavioural modelling, and the effectiveness of cybersecurity training.

Divine combines scientific rigour with engineering depth — the driving force behind Privci’s Human Vulnerability Scanner and behaviour‑change engines.

Konstantinos Mersinas

Dr. Konstantinos Mersinas

Chief Research Officer

Konstantinos is a leading figure in behavioural cybersecurity, specialising in how humans perceive, interpret, and respond to digital risk. With a PhD in Risk and Decision‑Making, his work bridges psychology, security engineering, and real‑world organisational behaviour.

He holds a senior academic post as a Professor of Cybersecurity Practice and Programme Lead for the Information Security MSc, where he shapes the next generation of security professionals. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Keio University in Tokyo, contributing to international research on human‑centred security. As the lead supervisor for Qufaro, he played a foundational role in establishing the National College of Cyber Security (NCCS), one of the UK’s most ambitious cyber‑education initiatives.

Gus Ogunlowo

Gus Ogunlowo

CTO

Gus is a seasoned data and AI engineering leader with over a decade of experience delivering large‑scale digital transformations across retail, e‑commerce, finance, and insurance. He holds a BSc in Applied Computing from the University of West London.

As a hands‑on technical programme leader, Gus has orchestrated multi‑million‑pound initiatives at Marks & Spencer, ASOS, and Mercedes‑Benz; from security‑hardening recovery programmes and data federation strategies to SAP migrations and omnichannel e‑commerce platforms. He has led cross‑functional engineering teams, embedded data governance and observability into integration workflows, and consistently aligned complex technology delivery with strategic business outcomes.

Gus combines deep platform engineering expertise with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset; the force behind Privci’s scalable data architecture, secure integration layers, and the operational backbone that powers our Human Vulnerability Scanner and behaviour‑change engines.

Ade Mersinas

Ade Oroleye

Head of Security & Risk

Ade is a security and risk specialist with over a decade of experience working across transport, retail, manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, and healthcare. He holds an MSc in Computer and Information Systems Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, and is certified as CISSP and CDPSE.

His career has spanned blue‑chip organisations including UBS, Bupa, Legal & General, Marks & Spencer, and Tata Consultancy Services; leading security consultancy engagements, delivering SIEM implementations, achieving ISO 27001 accreditation, and managing risk in complex, regulated environments. Ade is equally adept at bridging business requirements with technical controls, using structured methodologies such as Agile, Prince2, and Waterfall to translate stakeholder needs into operational security outcomes.

Ade joined Privci because he saw the same failure mode repeat: breaches rooted in human moments; misplaced trust, a skipped verification, a convincing impersonation. As Head of Security & Risk, he leads the security strategy for our Human Vulnerability Scanner, embedding privacy by design and translating behavioural‑science insights into practical risk controls. His work ensures that Privci surfaces the human signals attackers exploit; before they become incidents.

It Could Be You
