2018
The Moment It Became Real
During a high‑profile breach investigation, Divine was brought in as a security engineer to help contain the damage.
The technical work was intense — patching, monitoring, forensics — but the real lesson wasn’t in the systems.
It was in how the breach began: an employee, under pressure to meet a deadline, clicked a link they already felt unsure about.
Training existed. Policies existed. Simulations existed.
Yet none of it stopped what happened.
2019
Where the Question Took Hold
The incident sparked a question that refused to fade:
why do people still make risky decisions even when they know better?
Divine began exploring behavioural science, psychology, and machine learning — eventually pursuing a PhD focused on human decision‑making in security.
The more he learned, the clearer it became: the biggest gap in cybersecurity wasn’t knowledge or tools, but understanding the “why” behind human choices.
2020
A Vision Takes Shape
Patterns emerged.
Two people might click the same malicious link for completely different reasons — pressure, distraction, habit, fear, overconfidence.
Traditional training treated them the same, even though their risks were entirely different.
The idea behind Privci crystallised: a platform that doesn’t just train people, but understands them.
With the support of his wife, Divine stepped away from stability to pursue a mission centred on uncovering the human “why”.
2021
Science Lights the Path
Diving into one of the world’s most complex industries — maritime — Divine began pioneering research on behaviour‑driven security.
If behaviour change could work here, it could work anywhere.
The lessons learned from this work went on to inform Privci’s philosophy and design principles.
2022
Recognition and Validation
The first research paper was published, validating the behavioural science approach.
Dr. Konstantinos Mersinas, who supported the work, later joined Privci as Research Lead — strengthening the scientific rigour behind the mission.
2023
A Prototype Born from Persistence
After years of rejection, silence, and sleepless nights, the first primitive version of Privci emerged.
It wasn’t polished, but it was real — a testament to resilience, faith, and the belief that human‑centred security could change everything.
2024
Deepening the Science
We discovered that most human‑risk assessments work like blindfolded observers touching only one part of an elephant — each seeing something different, none seeing the whole.
Privci advanced beyond these one‑section evaluations to capture the complete human‑risk picture.
2025
Breakthrough and Momentum
Privci’s Human Vulnerability Scanner launched — the world’s first tool capable of mapping an organisation’s human risk landscape in just 30 days.
What began as a quiet question had become a living system — one that doesn’t blame people for being human, but understands them well enough to reduce risk before it becomes reality.
